Europe

Europe has the most mature and varied gambling regulation in the world. Most large markets are fully licensed — the UK, Netherlands, Spain, Italy, Sweden, and Denmark all have open, competitive markets with player protections.

Americas

The Americas are a mix of fast-moving legalisation (USA sports betting, Brazil) and more established markets (Canada's Ontario, Colombia). Latin America is becoming an important regulated market.

Asia-Pacific

Asia-Pacific is the most restrictive region for online gambling. Australia bans domestic online casino operators (though players face no penalty). Japan, South Korea, and Singapore have very tight restrictions. The Philippines is an exception — it licences online casino operators through PAGCOR.

Africa & Middle East

Frequently Asked Questions

In which countries is online gambling fully legal?

Most of Europe (UK, Netherlands, Spain, Italy, Sweden, Denmark), Canada (Ontario), Colombia, and the Philippines are fully licensed open markets. The USA is legal in 30+ states for sports betting and ~7 states for online casino.

Is it safe to play at an offshore site?

It depends. Playing at a site licensed by a respected regulator (MGA, UKGC, Gibraltar) gives you meaningful protection — fair games, safe withdrawals, dispute resolution. An unlicensed site gives you none of that.

Will I get in trouble for playing at an online casino?

In most countries, no. Laws typically target operators, not players. But in countries where gambling is fully prohibited (UAE, Saudi Arabia), there is real legal risk for players too.
